HELP AVAILABLE
Never turn down any help that is offered by family and friends. However, be sure to tell them exactly what help you would like from them. Other people will naturally assume that you need help caring for the babies, which may be the case. If it isn’t tell them. You may want someone to shop for you, hang out the washing, walk the dog etc. If everyone knows what to do the jobs will get done, stress levels will stay low and everyone should be happy. Don’t feel that accepting help means you are not coping. If you are tired and stressed the babies will pick up on it and become unsettled. Make life as easy as possible by accepting help for as long as it is offered.
Students
Often local colleges offers trainee nannies to help families with baby twins. They will help with the babies, make up feeds, bath them etc. However, you cannot leave the nanny alone with the babies and the nanny is not there to do housework for you.
Home Start
Homestart is an organisation which has volunteers working for them. These volunteers can help for a few hours every week. They will help in any way they can. Contact us via the “Email Us” on the home page.
