ABOUT US....
I’m Amanda Deacon the Chairperson of the Club, mum to Alex and Tom, teenage identical twins. The Billericay Twins Club is a voluntary organisation established by two young and enterprising Billericay mums back in 1977. Today with over 100 member families its main function continues to be the same; to provide support and advice to the families with twins, triplets or more.
The BTC has a voluntary Committee of mums who help with the general smooth running of the Club. We have a secretary and treasurer, also an editor who produces our newsletter and programme of social events, a hospital liaison secretary who attends local hospital multiple birth antenatal meetings, and a membership secretary who administers our membership records. We also have roles that help with sending birthday cards and looking after our website/facebook page.
To join the club only costs £7 per year or £20.00 for a three year membership which runs from 1st September when we hold our annual AGM where members can ask questions and raise ideas.
You will receive an interesting and varied club newsletter 3/4 times a year. We also organise social events giving you an opportunity to mix with other parents both with and without the children. You’ll receive information with each newsletter that tells you what’s planned.
We run a very popular nursery group for twins/triplets under 4 years old every Monday morning (siblings welcome). This nursery group is unique in that we welcome you along from when you are pregnant with your twins to meet other new mums in our “baby room” and then stay with us right through to the “big hall” when your twins are running around causing havoc!
